Key Features

⚙️Automatic Mode

User-friendly mode that automates the winding process. Requires initial setup to calibrate filament diameter and spool size. Perfect for seamless extrusion runs directly from your extruder.

🎚️Manual Mode

Complete control over winder speed settings (50–250 range). Ideal for situations requiring consistent winding speed, like re-spooling or working with specific materials.

📐High Precision Linear Drive

Advanced linear drive system ensures uniform winding across the entire spool width, preventing tangles and maintaining consistent layer distribution.

🔴Laser Height Sensor

Improved laser sensor algorithm automatically adjusts winding speed based on spool fullness, ensuring neat, tangle-free results from start to finish.

🎯Adjustable Tension Control

Built-in filament tensioner allows you to adjust tension for different materials — from flexible TPU to rigid engineering polymers.

📱7" TFT Touchscreen

Intuitive touchscreen interface provides easy access to all settings, real-time status monitoring, and on-screen calibration guidance.

Automatic Mode Calibration (Recommended)

Step 1: Set Guide Limits

The Winder 2.0 comes pre-calibrated for Noztek 1KG spools. If using different spools, you'll need to adjust the guide limits to match your spool width.

  • Navigate to the "Guide Limits" screen on the touchscreen
  • Use +/- buttons to move the filament guide to the left edge of your spool
  • Press "SET" for Set Value 1 when aligned
  • Move the guide to the right edge of your spool
  • Press "SET" for Set Value 2 when aligned
  • These values are stored for future use

Step 2: Set Filament Diameter

Configure the diameter of filament you'll be winding. The algorithm automatically adjusts guide movement speed based on this setting.

  • Choose from presets: 1.75mm or 3.00mm
  • Or set a custom diameter between 0.5mm and 5.0mm
  • Use +/- buttons to adjust custom values
  • Press "NEXT" to continue

Step 3: Calibrate Laser Sensor

The laser sensor detects filament height to automatically adjust winding speed. This calibration ensures accurate detection for your specific filament.

  • Prepare a piece of filament (or similar diameter item)
  • Hold the filament piece so it passes through both openings of the laser sensor
  • Press "CALIBRATE" on the touchscreen
  • Slowly move the filament up and down through the sensor area
  • Continue until the screen indicates calibration is complete
  • Press "NEXT" to proceed

Step 4: Load Filament

Proper filament loading ensures smooth operation and prevents tangles.

  • Pull filament under the tensioner — ensures proper tension during winding
  • Thread through the laser sensor case — filament must pass through both openings
  • Feed through the filament guide — the linear drive component that moves left-right
  • Secure to the spool using anchor holes on the interior sides or tape to the spool surface
  • Always start at an edge corner of the spool, using the side closest to the guide

Step 5: Start Winding

Once everything is configured and filament is loaded, you're ready to begin.

  • Press the green "START" button on the touchscreen
  • The winder will automatically adjust speed based on spool fullness
  • You can press individual setting buttons to adjust parameters while running
  • Press the red "STOP" button when the spool is full or to pause winding

Common Issues & Solutions
